Ellipsis Design Group (EDG) Instructional Design Process

ADDIE Model

We design our instructional program using the ADDIE model. We envision applying all five stages of the process to this project as follows:

Analysis:

As the need for this training has already been determined, we would use this stage to confirm the boundaries of the training, specify the expected performance outcomes, and carefully define the target audience. We would seek to answer a series of questions which would include, but is not limited to:

1 Who is the primary and secondary (if any) target population?

2 What is their expected prerequisite level of knowledge.

3 What is their preferred method of learning?

4 What level of skill and knowledge is a graduate of this learning program expected to display?

5 What is the expected physical location and setting for the training?

6 What is the attitude of the trainees expected to be toward this training?

7 What type of equipment is available for use during the learning program?

8 What is the qualification level of the learning program’s facilitators.

Implementation:

EDG will assist you with the contract’s implementation as desired or agreed to. Services may include conducting a Train-the-Trainer session, being a proctor during the initial delivery, and maintaining the course as needed.

Evaluation:

EDG’s design of this program may include a plan for evaluating the effectiveness of your learning program at least three levels: reaction, knowledge, and application or performance. The reaction will be gauged by administering a survey to the participants on the final training day. Knowledge will be measured through a comprehensive written and skills-based performance test which will be designed as part of the five-day course if appropriate and desired. In addition, (and if desired) EDG will work collaboratively with you to design a follow-up skills test that will be administered several months after the participants have completed the learning program, where applicable.
